Desired Background:
The ideal candidate is a rising Sophomore or Junior whose major/minor is in one or more of the following subjects: Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design or Marketing. Applicants who do not have one of the listed majors, but who have an interest and aptitude for design and publicity should still apply. All applicants should have demonstrated skills in one of the following areas: editing, writing, and/or publication and advertisement design. Experience in community service and interest in social justice issues is optional, but highly preferred.

Main Responsibility: Produce CCSJ Newsletter, Centering On (1-2 per semester)
• Conceptualize a theme for each issue
• Plan out articles, layout, and contributions
• Manage submission of all contributions; interview members of CCSJ staff for pieces, interview students, gather materials for features, write and edit articles
• Compile articles and digital photos into MS Publisher document
• Follow through to print

Additional Responsibilities:
• Consult with office staff as an advisor in publication design, marketing and publicity
• Assess effectiveness of publicity on-campus
• Work in tangent with other publicity intern in brainstorming ideas for various assignments
• Weekly meeting with supervisor and other publicity intern

Job Requirements:
The position requires a time commitment of approximately 8-12 hours per week (usually between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, though some “at home” work hours may be possible. Both work-study and non-work study applicants will be considered.
