If you’re dreaming of the day when H&M Home opens in the U.S. and you can’t wait to check out the latest boutique and restaurant in town, then this internship is for you! Chesapeake Home + Living magazine, a home décor and lifestyle magazine based in Baltimore, Md., is seeking an editorial intern for the fall 2012 semester. The internship is unpaid and you must be able to receive academic credit. The perfect candidate will be extremely organized, enthusiastic and detail-oriented. Duration: September-December. Two days a week for 5-6 hour shifts. Can be flexible, but total weekly time should be about 10-12 hours. Start date September 10. Responsibilities include: • Updating social media pages several times throughout the day (including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest) • Assisting with photography requests and photo shoots • Submitting story ideas • Writing one blog per week • Fact checking and conducting research for stories • Compiling editorial mail list for every issue • Providing editorial and administrative support for the staff Requirements: • Must receive academic credit for internship • Major in communications, journalism or English • Proficiency in social media and blogging • Strong writing, editing, research and communication skills • Interest in and/or experience with home décor and lifestyle content • Reliable transportation To apply: Please send a cover letter telling us why you’d like to intern at CH+L and what you hope to gain from this experience, your resume and two writing samples to Catherine Mallette at cmallette@baltsun.com.
