Journalism: Style Magazine

Baltimore Style magazine offers internships for students interested in the magazine setting.

Interns work closely with a small, energetic staff and are included in planning meetings and photo shoots when schedules allow. Specific office duties include:

--Fact checking articles in detail by telephone, library, Internet, or original reference materials to ensure accuracy prior to publication.
--Maintenance of the Style Web site and comprehensive Web calendar.
--Reporting and research to fill in holes in articles; this will result in a byline where appropriate, as in the case of a sidebar or short article.
--Answering phones and assisting callers in a helpful, courteous manner.
--Clipping national newspapers for stories and layouts that are of interest to Style.
--Clerical tasks such as Xeroxing, faxing, mailing and running errands.
