Journalism: U-WIRE (paid)

U-WIRE is now accepting applications, from currently enrolled
undergraduate or graduate students, for two copy editing positions.

The job:

* A minimum of 15 hours a week -- telecommuting into our online
editorial system

* Hours must be between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. EASTERN, Monday through Friday
only

* Options are full-year or semester: Preference will be given to
applicants who apply for a full-year internship.

* Interns are expected to work a minimum of 15 weeks per semester,
starting in August and January, respectively. Per semester, interns will
receive up to two weeks available to take off for breaks, finals,
midterms or any other events

* Responsibilities include: Last-call AP editing; headline writing;
spell check; general editing for grammar, math and U-WIRE style.

* A $2,000-per-semester stipend will be paid to interns.

* Experience with sports editing and/or experience on your college
newspaper are a plus.

U-WIRE interns have gone on to work for the Indianapolis Star, U.S. News
& World Report, The Associated Press and U-WIRE, of course -- among many
other professional media outlets.

We hope to fill the positions before most summer vacations, but
interviews and subsequent phone training may occur during your school's
break.
