Baltimore Magazine -- design

Baltimore magazine is looking for a summer/fall intern to assist the Art
Director for Special Editions and Marketing. The student would be working on
various aspects of two special edition publications: Baltimore Bride and
Baltimore Home, as well as marketing materials for Baltimore magazine. This
10-15 hr/wk unpaid position runs from the end of May until December and will
be responsible for the following:

Duties:
* Design marketing collateral for various magazine events including the Best
of Baltimore Party (ads, posters, web banners, signs, etc).
* Design promotional marketing materials (ads, sales sheets, web banners,
etc).
* Image and illustrator research.
* Assist as necessary during photo shoots.
* Organize and file tear sheet binders.

Must:
* Able to take direction and constructive criticism well.
* Preferably proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator CS5.
* Be eligible for school credit either in the summer or fall term.
* Have own transportation.

Choose Clean Water Coalition

Communications Internship
The Choose Clean Water Coalition, a project of National Wildlife Federation’s Chesapeake Mid- Atlantic Regional Center, brings together more than 230 organizations and their members from Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia, to work together to improve their local waters. We are located in Annapolis, MD.

Internship Description
This is an opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in writing, communications, public relations, public policy and learn about environmental nonprofit organizations. This position works with the Coalition’s communications and policy staff to assist in developing communications materials for the public, media outlets, and member organizations. Strong writing skills and experience using social media are required.

The communications intern will work closely with the Communications Manager and the Senior Policy Manager in writing, proofing, and editing a variety of media and policy position documents including press releases, letters to the editor and contributed articles. The intern will pitch Choose Clean Water issues and reports to reporters, columnists, editorial writers, and news producers. Maintain social media vehicles including drafting blogs, develop FaceBook content and tweeting on behalf of member organizations.
