This internship is open to college students working on their degree in graphic design. It is an unpaid position, consisting of 8-10 hours per week for the fall semester. The days/hours for this internship are very flexible, CurlyRed will work around class and work schedules. The internship will start the 2nd or 3rd week of September, so all candidates will be interviewed no later than September 3rd.


Intern duties:
• Assisting Ms. Ludwig (the owner of CurlyRed) with the production (and possible design) of CurlyRed materials,
including but not limited to logos, identities, publications, brochures, advertisements, posters, promotional
materials, websites etc.
• Scanning images, color correcting or modifying images, and updating design files.
• Providing administrative office support, including file and database management, answering the phone,
and other office-related tasks.
• Possibly accompanying Ms. Ludwig to occasional client meetings and/or networking events.

Candidates should have:
• Proficiency with the following programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Word.
• Some samples or a portfolio of design work.

Baltimore magazine is looking for a summer/fall intern to assist the Art
Director for Special Editions and Marketing. The student would be working on
various aspects of two special edition publications: Baltimore Bride and
Baltimore Home, as well as marketing materials for Baltimore magazine. This
10-15 hr/wk unpaid position runs from the end of May until December and will
be responsible for the following:

Duties:
* Design marketing collateral for various magazine events including the Best

Communications Intern

The communications intern reports to the Communications Assistant and the Director of Communications. The intern provides support primarily to these two positions through various tasks and must possess strong writing, analytical and communications skills. Daily, the intern will research, collect, and read media pieces related to the pork industry for the publication titled Pork Daily Intelligence. He or she will also attend meetings and congressional hearings when necessary to take photos and report important information, so a strong interest in public policy is beneficial. Weekly, the intern will write a summary of legislative affair related to the pork industry for the Capital Update publication. The intern will assist in the writing and graphic design of newsletters, brochures and the Web site. The media contact list, membership list and publications lists are the intern’s duty to maintain and update. The Florida Times-Union is soliciting applications from college students for its annual summer intern program.

Applications for internships must be received by December 1, 2008. Interns who are selected will be notified on or before Jan. 1, 2009.

The intern program extends through the summer months, and exact dates of employment will be negotiated. Interns may expect to be in the program for about 12 weeks. The salary scale is as follows:
• Completion of first year of college - $375 weekly.

This position will assist department with day to day activities including: training camp planning, set-up, execution and day-to-day management.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and a clear schedule for the duration of training camp. Applicants must be a junior or senior in college. A sports background is preferred but not necessary.

Public Relations

Description: Assists with day to day operations of department including: general PR staff support, Ravens daily clips execution, interview facilitation, team research, website assistance, compose press releases or stories related to team, media conduits and administrative duties including answering phones and mail.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism or related field; candidates should at least be entering their senior year. Prior experience in sports communication, including internships with PR, sports info or journalism. Superior writing and communication skills. In-depth knowledge of professional football and sports media. Must provide at least 2 writing samples with cover letter and resume. 4 candidates are selected for Training Camp. Of the 4, 2 are selected for season-long internships.

Stadium Operations

Description: Assist with day to day operations of department including: game day management, special event management/attendance, guest services, quality control for housekeeping, quality control of maintenance and suites, assist in managing snow removal crews.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in management/stadium management or related field. Microsoft office proficiency a must. Ability to life up to 50lbs. This position also requires a lot walking.

Ticket Operations

Description: Assist with day to day operations of department including: phone coverage, customer service, phone solicitation, filing, mailing of ticket related materials, order & payment processing, ticket distribution, account maintenance, general assistance and event assistance.

Requirements: Have at least completed junior year or higher at a 4-year degree seeking university and maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA. Experience in sport management via minor, clubs, involvement in campus activities or leisure.

Duration / Hours: Varying, 3 months-1 year (May-May) / Minimum of 24 hours per week, Up to 40+ per week

The selection process begins each year around January 1st and is completed by the end of April.

Description: Assist with day to day operations of department during Training Camp: including prepping training rooms, stocking supplies, and providing water to players during practice.

Requirements: Have at least completed junior year or higher at a 4-year degree seeking university and maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA in physical therapy, medical training or related field. Experience with athletes a must. Resumes are accepted in December of each year.

2008 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
(Internships may be offered in one or more of the following areas: copy editing/design, graphics, photography, reporting)

The Florida Times-Union is soliciting applications from college students for its annual summer intern program.

Applications for internships must be received by December 1, 2007. Interns who are selected will be notified on or before Jan. 1, 2008.

The intern program extends through the summer months, and exact dates of employment will be negotiated. Interns may expect to be in the program for about 12 weeks. The salary scale is as follows:
• Completion of first year of college - $375 weekly.
• Completion of second year of college - $400 weekly.
• Completion of third year of college - $435 weekly.
• Completion of fourth year of college - $450 weekly.
• Completion of graduate school - $500 weekly.

Interns will draw a variety of assignments. Meetings will be held with various editors to discuss problems and progress. Every effort will be made to match summer work assignments with the interests of the interns selected to work on the staff of the Times-Union.
Preference will be given to Individuals who have held summer internships with daily newspapers in the past and individuals proven interested in a career in print journalism.

Applications must be made in writing and should include grade point average, previous journalism experience and at least two references, one from within the academic community. Clips of past work should be included with application.
It is not necessary for applicants to be majoring in journalism, but that is desirable. Interns must have their own vehicles. We are a drug free workplace.

Communications Intern for Jesuit Volunteer Corps

Jesuit Volunteer Corps is seeking an undergraduate student or recent college graduate to intern throughout the fall semester. As an essential part of a two-person department, the communications intern gains hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, which provides more context to academic lessons and professional skills for a career in public relations.

The intern is asked to dedicate 15 – 20 hours per week, for a minimum of 10 weeks, with hours organized around class or work schedules. No evening or weekend work required.

Tasks are assigned based on personal interests and strengths. Standard duties include creating coverage reports, strengthening media lists, organizing online photo storage, moderate design projects, and creating or posting content for online outlets.

A successful intern has a solid writing portfolio, strong web research skills, is able to stick to a deadline, has an interest in graphic and/or web design, experience with social networking sites like YouTube and Facebook, and an interest in JVC's work for peace and justice. Experience with Associated Press or Chicago Manual of Style, photography, or videography a plus.

This position is unpaid, but can be tailored to meet course credit requirements.
