The Maryland Democratic Party (Annapolis, MD) is now accepting applications for Spring and Summer Internships. There are several program slots still available. Applicants will start immediately through the summer. Internships will focus in several areas including fundraising, communications (social media), field activity, research and political outreach.
Intern Duties and Responsibilities
· Draft communications for general distribution
· Manage data lists
· Assist in event planning
· Communicate with Democratic Party officials, offices and staff
· Build relationships with Democratic affiliated organizations
· General research
· General office support and organization

Requirements
· An interest in politics, especially Maryland politics
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Interns should be prepared to use their own laptop computers if they have them.
· Interns may be asked to attend events in Annapolis and around the state of Maryland

Schedule
· Interns must commit to a minimum of ten hours per week
· Schedules will be set with your direct MDP supervisor

Sports – Journalism, marketing, public relations

The Tampa Sports Authority (TSA) is an agency that manages Raymond James Stadium and three municipal golf courses in Tampa, FL. Raymond James Stadium is the home of the 2009 Super Bowl, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the University South Florida Bulls football and the Outback Bowl.

The TSA stadium communications department is seeking two one-year assistants. One candidate will be selected as a communications and marketing assistant, and should have a background in communications, marketing, journalism, or public relations. The second candidate will be selected as a visual communications assistant, and should have a background in communications, basic HTML code, photography, and graphic design.

The TSA requests interested candidates are graduating seniors or graduate students with a minimum 3.0 grade point average in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Visual Communications. The internships/assistantships are a one year program which requires a weekly commitment of at least 40 hours. Some weekends and evenings will be required for event management duties.

At the stadium, we have as few as one event and as many as five events per month. Please be advised that we are considered an entertainment venue and as such, must reserve many weekends and/or evenings for our events. In addition, we feel the experience and contacts that are gained while working with the Tampa Sports Authority offers a great opportunity for someone entering the workforce.

For the 2011 Ripken Baseball Tournament schedule we are offering a new job opportunity at our Baseball Academy in Aberdeen, MD. The Ripken Academy will be announcing all of the youth tournament games at our complex. We are searching for quality individuals to serve as PA announcers for the spring, summer, and fall tournaments. We are looking for individuals who have some experience in a similar capacity (college radio, other sports PA experience, etc.). Our season begins in March and ends in early October.

Student Health 101 is looking for male college student journalists and authors to write features and shorts on health issues that are of concern to college students. We have recently heard from many female student writers who are helping us with assignments, so we're reaching out now to more male writers to get their perspectives and voices in our publication. Student Health 101 is an e-newsletter distributed to about 1 million students at more than 300 colleges and universities nationwide. Topics include alcohol and drug abuse, contraception, fitness, nutrition, mental health, and more. Feature stories are 1,250 to 1,500 words; short features are 500-600 words; and health briefs are 300 words. The fees paid per article vary by length and the difficulty of the subject matter.
